What memories does this game bring me, this time I have been able to play it Yie Ar Kung-Fu, a true Konami classic that inevitably evokes the nostalgia of those who could enjoy it in their time, but who these 20 years weigh heavily on.
There are times when the classics by themselves cannot stand the passing of the years, and their reissue on the download services of the new generation consoles is not nearly what was expected of them. This is the case of Yie Ar Kung-Fu, a true Konami classic that inevitably evokes the nostalgia of those who could enjoy it in its time, but who these 20 years weigh heavily on.
At the time, this fighting game from Konami was an attractive alternative in arcades, but today it is a title that is short, complex in control and visually unattractive. Even with the improved graphics for Xbox 360 it is one of the weakest entries in the Arcade to date.
In the classic visual section, it is not possible to overcome the important handicap of flat and empty stages together with small fighters who move quite strangely. It is true that when talking about an old game, its simplicity could be overlooked, but the sound section does not come out very well either, with a melody that is repetitive and quite weak sound effects.
In the same way, the playable section is quite limited, an inevitable mark over the years. It is correct, without more, with only two buttons, one for kick and one for punch, apart from using the stick to move around the stage or even to jump. Difficult to carry out fruitful attacks successfully, or dodge certain enemy attacks, in addition to the fact that the whole game ends up being repetitive and routine.
Yie Ar Kung-Fu is also a very short game. After overcoming just five fights it offers, all in one round, it doesn't have much more to offer.
What I think of the game after playing
Yie Ar Kung-Fu is a title whose revolution in its time is insufficient for today, since it pales in the face of great fighting offers, even within the Xbox Live Arcade itself, such as Street Fighter 5, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 11 or Small Arms . Nostalgia does not last long due to its short duration, and the 400 MP it is worth can be missed soon. - A classic that I have recovered to have fun for a while
